Zion Evangelical Lutheran United Church of Christ has been in the community since 1865. Beginning with a small number of worshipers, our fellowship has grown to over 300 members. We rejoice in the many blessings God has shared with us, and we look forward to the years to come. In worshiping, learning, serving and sharing there will be constant opportunities open to us. We embrace them joyfully, knowing that God always supplies His people with the Spiritual strength to meet every challenge.
Zion is a participating congregation of the United Church of Christ, created in 1957 with the merger of the Congregational Christian Churches and the Evangelical and Reformed Church. It combines the religious heritages from England and the European Reformation of the 16th century. Based upon God as Creator, Jesus Christ as Redeemer and the Holy Spirit as Sustainer, it is diverse in membership and ecumenical in community outreach.
The Mission of Zion United Church of Christ:
To worship and glorify God;
To preach, teach, and bear witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ;
To celebrate the Sacraments;
To realize Christian fellowship and unity within this congregation and the Church Universal;
To render loving service toward humankind; and
To strive for righteousness, justice and peace.
